New directors bring product development backgrounds
BETHESDA, MD, March 29, 2024 /24-7PressRelease/ — Calvert Impact, Inc. announced the appointment of two new experienced financial professionals, Eliza Pepper and Georgina Baker, to its board of directors.
Pepper led the Latin America’s advisory and wealth planning teams at UBS, where she made sustainability a preferred investment lens. Prior to UBS, Pepper served as CIO at XP Inc. She has over 35 years of experience in the industry and has held several additional investments roles at firms including Citigroup and Itaú USA. “I am delighted to join the Calvert Impact board and support their trailblazing work in impact,” said Pepper. “Impact investments transform economic systems, and allocate value to investors, society and the environment.”
Baker is a senior advisor with BCG, consulting on projects in the Social Impact area. Previously she worked for IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank, for 30 years. Her ultimate role was as Regional VP covering Latin America, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Over her extensive career she led investments in financial institutions, trade finance and syndications across emerging markets. Baker remarked on how proud she is to be joining the Calvert Impact board: “This is an institution which leads by example, taking the impact of its investments very seriously, whether in the US or emerging markets.”
